I’m testing a GeoCMS WordPress plug-in that hopefully will allow posts to be linked to a Google Map.

In the end, I’m hoping to use this thing to combine the following technologies to create a visual site map for a trail/hiking/paddling journal:

-Iphone image file GPS data
-WordPress Administration Application for the Iphone
-Google Maps

I’m a hopelessly visual guy. To me, picture is worth a million words. I want to navigate a blog using a map…a real map, not a text ‘map’.

Each element exists, but the question is can I link them together. Not likely.

BTW: Please ignore the “Show on map” link below. It’s useless right now.

I went whitewater kayaking on the Haw River from 15-501 to the 64 bridge. At a little over 1000 cfs, this section offered little risk or challenge, but still provided a fun Saturday paddle close to home. It was good to be in a whitewater boat again:)

I had the opportunity to mount 6 pairs of telemark bindings for a US Army Special Forces group out of Fort Bragg. As you can imagine, we have little demand for these skis here in NC. I had never done a telemark mount before, but I’m sure I did a good job. I scoured the web for tips and found that there is little difference in mounting techniques between telemark and alpine bindings. It was odd knowing that if I screwed up on the mount, it could mean the difference between life and death for the soldiers. I did a good job. I did a good job. I did a good job…
